La Jolla Real Estate & Homes for sale: A "Jewel" of a community !

La Jolla real estate was incorporated into the City of San Diego in 1850, but its international reputation makes it seem like a city itself. In Spanish La Jolla means “The Jewel” and a jewel is exactly what the community is to America’s Finest City.

Located just 15 miles from downtown San Diego, La Jolla is surrounded by exotic homes, beaches, cultural activities, world-renowned restaurants, stylish boutiques, educational facilities, and spectacularly located real estate. La Jolla is an exquisite combination of a southern European resort atmosphere and Southern California fun and excitement.

La Jolla real estate can range in price anywhere from the $600’s for condominiums up to the multi millions for an La Jolla ocean front estate real estate.. The average single family home is $1,265,000. Highly priced but worth every penny, La Jolla homes come with the whole package of elegance, style, beauty, and sophistication which is very difficult for even the most remarkable of communities to compare.

While La Jolla, CA is known to be one of the most affluent communities in the United States, it has a down to earth sense due to the beautiful natural scenery and the close knit ties and helpfulness of its residents. Moreover, in addition to fine restaurants, beautiful beaches, country clubs, and art galleries, La Jolla is home to renowned institutions, such as the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, The La Jolla Playhouse, the Contemporary Museum of Art, and the Stephen Birch Aquarium and Museum. This is in addition to the University of California San Diego (UCSD) campus which currently inhabits approximately 65,000 students and has assisted millions of its graduates with life-fulfilling careers. The community has also been an inspiration to many famous writers, artists, and photographers due to its symbolic and inspiring views, foliage, serene settings, and of course the intensity of its architecture which is apparent when admiring the beautiful homes and estates that encompass La Jolla. Furthermore, La Jolla is home to many Bio-Tech and software companies, giving many of its residents business opportunities without the hassle of commuting.

Imagine you’re on 13.46 miles of rugged coastline, sandy beaches, & hideaway coves. One wouldn’t think that this story-like setting could actually be right outside your front door. It is no wonder why La Jolla real estate is sometimes referred to as the California Riviera. A cultural smorgasbord of regal homes, elegant tastes, world class shopping, museums and galleries are just some of the things that La Jolla has to offer its new comers or its 38,000 long-term residents.

La Jolla homes have become synonymous with cosmopolitan living mixed with country home styled colors and decor. The outdoor enthusiast would appreciate the many golf courses, water sports, beach hiking, and accommodations that La Jolla has to offer. What’s even more spectacular is that many of these sites overlook this quaint community and better yet the miles of exotic beaches and ocean views.

La Jolla California is a great place to vacation, do business, attend university, or call home. It’s no wonder that The Jewel of San Diego County is one of the hottest spots to invest in real estate or purchase your next home.

La Jolla California Weather Information

La Jolla, in the San Diego area, enjoys a beautiful, mild climate year round. January is generally the coldest and wettest month of the year, and August is usually the warmest month. In actuality, however, there is very little variation throughout the year in temperature in the coastal region, except when easterly winds off the desert pushes the temperature up a few degrees. The dry season runs May through September with very little measurable precipitation during this time. October is a transitional month, and is usually dry but can have variable weather. Fog and low clouds along the coast are common, but usually burn off by noon. A marked feature of the climate in this region is the wide variation within a short distance due to the topography of the area. Visitors can enjoy a coastal climate, mountains and desert all within a day's drive of each other.
